There will be a special launch event in Maidstone Town Centre for the Maidstone Mela on Saturday September 3rd with performances by Bloco Fogo, Maidstone Nepalese Group and the award winning Four by Four Bhangra Group.

Music and food were order of the day at the 9th Dartford Community Mela Festival which took place on Saturday August 13 in Central Park. Around 650 attended the free community event which was organised in partnership by the Kent ECC (Equality Cohesion Council) and Cohesion Plus with the help and support of Dartford Borough Council, Arts Council England and local community groups.

Despite the poor weather the crowds again flocked to the Mela which took place on July 17.

Highlights included the energetic performance of bhangra star Foji, the Cohesion Plus produced fusion performance of African, Asian, North American and European music and dance titled “Fusion Clash” and an exciting finale by the Take That Experience.
