Community Beats Project moves into Gravesend Library

The Community Beats project which offers free Dhol and Djembe drumming sessions to young people in Gravesham is going from strength to strength. Free African Djembe drumming lessons have now started every Tuesday between 5pm and 6pm in the Community Room at Gravesend Library. The sessions are being led by renowned musician and Kent resident Lucky Moyo.

Gurvinder Sandher Artistic Director of Cohesion Plus commented “We are really pleased to be in a position to deliver free Djembe classes at the Library providing opportunities for young people to learn new skills and make new friends. I am very grateful to Kent County Council for allowing us use of the Library, this is a great example of public sector partners opening the doors to their buildings for the betterment of local communities.”

Community Beats is a project which is delivered by Cohesion Plus, supported by Youth Music and Kent Equality Cohesion Council.
