The local residents of Springhead were once again able to enjoy the splendour of the Springhead Magical Winter Garden in Penn Green Park which returned to the area on Saturday 28th of January 2023. Organised by Cohesion Plus working in partnership with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, Same Sky Arts and supported by KKB Group, residents came out in their hundreds to enjoy the many fantastical light installations, street acts and music.
The event was a free community celebration which aimed to bring some much needed light to the dark winter month of January. Welcoming of all and at no charge, those in attendance were able to enjoy a DJ, stilt walkers with dazzling light costumes, children’s’ themed mascots as well as the many wonders of the creative light shows. There was also warm food and drink on hand for those feeling the cold.
Gurvinder Sandher MBE DL, Artistic Director of Cohesion Plus commented, “This event is now in its second year and no less spectacular. I am so pleased that everyone came out to support it during a cold and dark night but that’s exactly the aim of the event, to get everyone out and interacting with amazing art and with each other. It’s so important that we delivered this event which was free to attend, during a very difficult economic climate where many are struggling to make ends meet. We are grateful to Ebbsfleet Development Corporation for their continued partnership and we look forward to delivering similar in the area soon. Further thanks go to KKB Group whose community initiatives ensure that events like these take precedence within the locality.”
