Immerse yourself in a special exhibition delivered by the North Kent Caribbean Network with Cohesion Plus as part of Black History Month. Experience first-hand a typical front room and familial space of a Windrush Generation member, who would have arrived to the UK on the SSE Windrush in the 1940’s. The exhibition will transport you to a time of new beginnings, cross cultural aesthetics and pride in one’s heritage. The exhibition aims to be a trip down memory lane for some people and an insight into what life was like for the Windrush generation, for others.
The exhibition will run for the entire month of October in the Blake Gallery, based in the Woodville Halls Theatre and can be viewed during opening hours of the Civic Centre. Further information on activities taking place during Black History Month can be found at www.blackhistorykent.com
